Spanish “Desperate Housewives” on the Way

TV networks ABC and Univision have teamed up to produce a Spanish-language version of hit U.S. show Desperate Housewives

The program has begun filming in Argentina, with Latin stars Lucia Mendez, Scarlet Ortiz, Lorna Paz, Ana Serradilla, Gabriela Vergara and Julieta Rosen taking on the roles of their Wisteria Lane counterparts.

Mark Zuckerberg isn’t friends with everyone on Facebook. But the founder of the popular social network does have access to valuable information posted by the 50-million-plus people who use his site to communicate with their friends. And he’s planning to share it with marketers.

Hispanics Subgroups Differ by Age

Distinct age differences emerge among Hispanic subgroups. More than 20 percent of Cubans are 65 or older, while a scant 4 percent of Mexicans are in that age bracket. On the other hand, 37 percent of Mexicans and 31 percent of Puerto Ricans are younger than 18, compared with just 20 percent of Cubans.

Similarly,Mexicans have a lower median age of 24.7, while Cubans have a median age of 42.7, much higher than the median age of 35.9 of the total U.S. population.
